For those whishing to extend I would suggest hiring a car and visiting Swakopmund and then taking the Desert Express train from Swakopmund to Windhoek. This would then obviously mean that one would then be leaving from Windhoek to Cape Town. The Desert Express departs once a week from Swakopmund at 15H00 arriving in Windhoek at 10H30 on the Sunday.
