This Farr desgined sloop is in pristine condition and maintained to high standards by its only owner.She was overhauled in 2010-2011.This yacht can absolutely not be compared with any of the other Farr 40's. She has been meticulously maintained and actively campaigned on the local race circuit. A very easy boat to sail. |

INTERIOR: The bright interior with 3 double cabins and galley and Navigation Station, both slightly aft of the saloon and trimmed with a wooden finish, is as comfortable for an extended family cruise as it is for racing round the cans. The single heads compartment has access from both the forward cabin and saloon. Ventilation is plentiful with strategically placed hatches. The aft cabins are ventilated through cockpit wall mounted portlights also allowing for convenient rope stowage when in race mode keeping the cockpit sole clear. The galley is equipped with a double S/S sink, two burner gimballed stove with oven, fridge and dry goods storage lockers. |

Deck Gear: The winches are by Harken. Main, Jib and Spinnaker systems are all Harken with Spinlock Clutches holding the mast and boom lines when not winch loaded. The deck design maintains a harmonious balance between a large coachroof for maximum volume below decks and an expansive cockpit for easy passing traffic during race manoeuvres. In cruise mode, the main cockpit area has seats and coamings which provide a comfortable enclosed safe place. Unlike many race boats, this boat's Mainsheet traveller is situated behind the helm for safety during those big downwind gybes. |

Racing: This Farr has been well maintained and raced on the SA circuit since its arrival in 2005. She has finished on the podium more times than not and is a perfect IRC race boat. In 2000 she competed in the prestigeous Cape to Rio Race where she finished 4thin the Race Cruiser division. 2007 she crossed the finish line in the Cape Town to Walvisbay Race. From 2006 through to 2010 she succesfully competed in all major Course Races in the Western Cape. Maintenance: She is one of the better maintained SA Race Boats. All of the deck gear is regularly serviced and running rigging replaced when necessary to allow for no equipment breakdown on the race course. The topsides paint job is in excellent condition and the bottom is anti-fouled with International Hard Racing Finish. Her hull is kept clean and free of debris with a once a month bottom dive and she is hauled out 1 time a year for assesment and maintenance. She was race faired in 2008. This Farr 40 is in excellent condition with a good suit of sails, equipment that works, clean and ready to race. Owner is changing style of sailing is the reason for selling. Ideal for the club/weekend sailor and also for the regatta campaigners, this is an IRC dream boat and podium finishes are easily attainable. |
